Our Story
Where we began...
After pursuing a clinical academic career at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Dr. Zarb and his family moved back to Ontario in the summer of 2003. He joined Dr. Lawrence St. Pierre, an established prosthodontist in the community, at Barrie Prosthodontics, a small two dental operatory practice on Ferris Lane in Barrie...
In 2008, Dr. Zarb took over the ownership of Barrie Prosthodontics and sought to expand the scope of practice and services offered by our team of specialists.​
It was clear that being able to continue to expand our ability to offer same day dental implant solutions was appreciated and valued by the community at large. To this end, Barrie Prosthodontics morphed into Barrie Dental Specialists.
In May 2010, a brand new, state of the science, facility was inaugurated at 34 Quarry Ridge Rd in Barrie close to the RVH Hospital and Georgian College Campus, and next door to Image Dental Laboratory (IDL).
​This seven dental operatory clinic was equipped to host more dental specialists and provide a one stop service for our patients who travel from afar to receive multidisciplinary specialty care. Barrie Dental Specialists was born with the addition of Periodontists to our team, as well as Dental Anesthesia being offered to our patients.
The proximity to the leading dental laboratory in Muskoka Simcoe, IDL, allowed our clinicians to shorten treatment times, provide same day implant prosthodontic solutions and customized personal care.
